Dear Calvary Chapel Family,

Each day that our staff enters the sanctuary and offices feels stranger than the day before it.  During the last week, our staff and ministry leaders have done all we can to respond to the rapidly changing circumstances that the Coronavirus and our civil leaders are presenting.

While these times are challenging and more troubling than any we’ve ever experienced, the Lord’s love, power and faithfulness remain steadfast.  Regardless of how shaky our routines have felt in recent days, Jesus remains our Solid Rock and His Church is active and on the move.

During the past week we have sought to provide frequent video updates, worship and teaching times for our Calvary family, as well as our friends.  In the coming weeks, and until we find it unnecessary to do so, we will do our very best to offer timely video devotionals, encouragement and other worship opportunities.  As always, we will continue to Livestream our 9 AM Sunday service and 7 PM Wednesday Bible Study on Livestream and Facebook.  In addition, our extensive sermon archive is available here.

As we minister to each member of the body – to our Youth (Pulse)Young AdultsMenWomenChildren and families in general – we will communicate with each group directly and post links on each ministry’s page on our website.  I must tell you how excited and blessed I am as I watch ministry leaders and staff working together to address these times in which we suddenly find ourselves.

Please check out our website and interact with us on Facebook and Instagram for up-to-date information and opportunities to worship “together” in Song and in the Word.

We may not be able to meet together in person but make no mistake about it, the church remains strong and committed to sharing the hope and peace of Christ with a lost and very frightened world.

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

– Isaiah 41:10

Many Blessings To You & Your Family!

March 14 | WEEKLY GROUP GATHERINGS

Greetings Everyone,

By now you’ve seen and are aware that we are following the advice of our President, our Governor, the CDC and other professionals who have reinforced that “social distancing” is necessary right now. So after consulting our own Response Team, Medical Professionals, and our Elders, we believe it is “prudent to avoid all group gatherings for the next 2 weeks” and will instead worship “together” online.

The decision to avoid all group gatherings includes but is not limited to the list provided below:

  • Home Groups
  • Women’s Tuesday Night
  • Women’s Friday Morning
  • Young Adults
  • Free Indeed
  • Men Of Purity

While this wasn’t an easy decision, we know that it is the most responsible means by which we can help to slow the spread of this virus and protect the more vulnerable in our fellowship and our community from infection.

We praise the Lord for the technology He has provided us to worship together online and share prayer requests and have conversations with each other by email, text or phone until we can meet together again.

Please join us in praying for the Lords divine intervention for safety, protection and stopping the spread of this virus!

“The Lord alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God and I will trust Him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.” – Psalm 91:2-3

In Christ,

Pastor Steve

March 13 | SUNDAY & WEDNESDAY

Here’s the Latest, Calvary Family!

Throughout 21 years of weekly gatherings, Calvary has only rarely closed our doors because severe weather threatened the safety of our worshipers and ministry volunteers.

Despite the brave claims of some, at some point we’ve always had to consider everyone’s safety – and in the case of the Coronavirus, this includes the schools, stores, businesses and neighborhoods that we frequent. We are, after all, a compassionate group who care about everyone’s well-being.

Some people accuse the 24 hour news cycle of creating “over the top” public hysteria, while others take every proposed caution so seriously that, if they’re not careful they could be swept up by an irrational fear. How should the church respond in this situation?

In times of uncertainty, people flock to church. When there’s panic, people need to gather for worship, to pray and be encouraged from God’s Word. Our President, our Governor, the CDC and other professionals have reinforced that “social distancing” is necessary right now. Additionally, after consulting our own Response Team, Medical Professionals, and our Elders, we believe it is prudent to avoid group gatherings for the next 2 weeks and will instead worship “together” online.

While this wasn’t an easy decision, we know that it is the most responsible means by which we can help to slow the spread of this virus and protect the more vulnerable in our fellowship and our community from infection.

Please join us online at 9 AM on Sunday as we worship together in song, the Word, prayer and giving.  We praise the Lord for the technology He has provided us to worship together online. It is also important to acknowledge the financial implications of this decision, so we humbly ask that you continue your support of the ministry here at Calvary by giving online, selecting the appropriate button below.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the  mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” – Psalm 46:1,2

“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and a sound mind.”  – 2 Timothy 1:7

We look forward to worshiping with you “virtually” this Sunday!

Many Blessings To You & Your Family!
